Greek exam results 2026: out on 31 July, and where to check

The May 2026 results came out on 31 July. Where to check them, what you need to log in, the deadline for a re-mark, and when the certificate follows.

Updated:

Results for the May 2026 Ελληνομάθεια sitting were published on Friday 31 July 2026 at 12:00 on the Centre for the Greek Language site — roughly ten weeks after the exams of 19–21 May. They are at greek-language.gr/certification/results, and logging in takes three things from your application: your examination centre code, your candidate code and your surname.

What has to happen before 31 August 2026

If you disagree with your mark, applications for a re-mark are accepted until 31 August 2026. They go by email to [email protected]; the fee is €60, but you do not pay it up front — they reply with bank details. Replies to the applications themselves go out after 15 September 2026.

The window is short and hard-edged. The full procedure, including one candidate’s successful appeal on the speaking part, is in how to appeal your result.

When the certificate itself arrives

The result on the website and the paper certificate are not the same event, and there is more than a month between them.

Certificates for the May 2026 sitting are dispatched to examination centres in late September 2026. You collect yours from the centre where you sat the exam; in Cyprus that is the Examination Service in Nicosia. See how and where to collect your certificate.

Ten weeks between exam and result is not a delay — it is the normal rhythm. Papers are marked centrally in Greece for every examination centre in the world.

The next sitting

The next Ελληνομάθεια sitting available in Cyprus is May 2027: 11 May for A1 and A2, 12 May for B2 and C1, 13 May for B1. Registration runs from 1 February to 14 March 2027.

The Centre for the Greek Language announces each sitting’s results date separately. Going by previous years, expect it towards the end of July 2027 — but that is an expectation, not a published date, so check the official page.

University of Cyprus exams run on their own schedule: there, the School notifies candidates directly, per sitting. See the University of Cyprus exam.

If you did not pass

You can re-sit at the next sitting — a failed attempt does not cost you a year if another exam suits you. Ελληνομάθεια runs once a year in Cyprus, but the University of Cyprus has several sittings, and both certificates are accepted for registration and naturalisation.

One piece of practical advice: do not start over from scratch. Each skill is marked separately, and it is almost always one of the four that sank the result. Find which one and put the hours there — GreekBrain reports your weakest skill rather than an average across all four.
