The Ελληνομάθεια certificate is not posted out. You collect it in person at the examination centre in Nicosia, with photo ID — or someone collects it for you with a paper letter of authorisation. The address is Μεγάρων 23, 2032 Στρόβολος – Λευκωσία, Αίθουσα 3, ground floor. A few days before collection opens, an email arrives telling you where and when.
The official part was verified on 12 August 2026 against the Centre for the Greek Language announcement and its register of examination centres. The collection practice comes from a large Greek-learning chat group, late August 2025 — candidates’ experience, not published procedure, and it can change.
Why nothing is posted
Certificates used to be sent by post, but the practice was dropped: too many never reached the addressee and came back to the centre. It was judged unreliable.
So there are two routes now: turn up yourself, or send someone with an authorisation.

Centre code 35703 is the same one you need to view your results, alongside your candidate code and surname. If you sat Ελληνομάθεια in Cyprus, this is your centre — there is no other in the country.
⚠️ Expect a queue. People turn up from early morning and it can be long.

The 2026 cycle is running later than 2025: certificates only leave for the examination centres at the end of September, so collection in Nicosia cannot start before that. Do not plan around last year’s “late August”.
The real signal is the email. A few days before collection opens, a message goes to the address on your exam application with the place and time.
The date in the email is a suggestion, not an appointment
Worth knowing, and it saves a lot of anxiety: the date you are given is not binding. There is no booking system.
- Can’t make your day? Come on any other day in the collection period.
- Missed the whole period? The certificate does not go anywhere — it stays at the centre and is kept in the archive until collected. Check the arrangement on the phone number or email given in that same letter.
If someone else collects for you
This is allowed, but the requirements for the authorisation are strict, and this is where people come unstuck.
- The authorisation must be on paper. A photocopy is fine.
- A photo of it on a phone is not accepted — for a simple reason: the staff keep the paper. There is nothing to hand over from a screen.
- Along with it you need a copy of the ID document of the person you are collecting for — the same document named in the authorisation.
- And the person collecting needs their own ID, naturally.
Template: download the authorisation form (PDF). It is the ΕΞΟΥΣΙΟΔΟΤΗΣΗ form with blank fields — you fill in the ID or passport numbers of both parties and sign. Note that the heading names the May 2025 sitting; change it to yours.
The certificate does not expire
The Ελληνομάθεια certificate has no expiry date: pass once and the level is certified for life. Even if your application slips by years, there is nothing to re-sit.
The same holds for certificates from the School of Modern Greek at the University of Cyprus — also for life, issued under the school’s own procedure.
If the certificate is for a citizenship file
The language certificate is only one part of the set. Standard naturalisation requires B1, plus a separate exam on the political and social realities of Cyprus — a different paper on a different calendar, covered in depth on Hallouminati.
